Such as distance between where you are doing MEPS and Fort Benning. Are you PCS'ing or going to your unit ( if you are reserves) there are more variables than that. Also you have to consider that OCS is a predetermine course date with certain start dates. Without knowing this or having orders in hand its pretty difficult to determine if you will have time to drive to Benning based on your class date. Eight hours a day of driving, so two days in POV and one day by air and taxi from ATL to Benning. I am presuming you follow my computation.

The other way would be to take total miles divided by 75 mph which equals total number of hours it will take to reach Benning in GA from NYC or just Google it. How is travel distance/ time computed when traveling by POC/POA on Temporary Duty (TDY)?
The authorized travel days are calculated using 400 miles/day (based on the DTOD distance between the authorized points) for an employee or member if POC use is advantageous. Refer to JTR, par. 4700 for more information. One travel day is allowed for each 400 miles of official distance of ordered travel. If the excess distance is 1 or more miles after dividing the total official distance by 400, one additional travel day is allowed. When the total official distance is 400 or fewer miles, only 1 day of travel time is allowed. If POC use is for the traveler's convenience, the traveler is only authorized 1 travel day for each leg.
And this was a simple Google question....way to go future officers of America's Army! If not specifically permitted on your orders, the Army will not pay for your travel. You will not be paid for your day(s) of travel. If I remember correctly, I was in a similar situation as you (prior service on IRR) and I was not allowed to drive. I had to leave from MEPS straight to the airport. Good luck! TAD, TEMINS, TEMINS leading to PCS etc. etc. Any nearby unit pay/travel clerk or your S-1 can give you an exact figure. MEPS could also, if you ask. It's not an unrealistic demand because you have much planning to do. Congrats and good luck at OCS and after. If the last leg of the trip is over 51 miles (I believe), you’ll be authorized another day for travel. Does that make sense?
