Share some of the habits you have kept near and dear to you during your transition from service to civilian life

1. outstanding posture
2. excessive use of "outstanding" as an adjective
3. If I'm late, it's because there was a apocalyptic event (or my wife couldn't find her phone).

COL Mikel J. Burroughs I have not transitioned completely. The 2 years I was merely a drill status guardsman however I would say the basics- do your job as best you can, work and integrate as a team, be on time, and contribute to the solution of the problem and not be the problem.

I check my gig line when I am wearing a nice outfit. I don't think I will ever be able to stop doing that.

On that note, I also find myself checking other people's gig lines -- and then sometimes I think to myself, "Man, that gig line is WAY off." Haha.

1) I still step off with the left foot first.
2) Salute the flag.
3) Simple respect, something that is sorely lacking in the world today outside the
military.
4) 24 hour clock.
5) Back to a wall.
6) Trust only those that I know will have my back.
7) Shined shoes.
8) A place for everything and everything in it's place.
9) Never less than 15 minutes early for anything.
10) Sanctity of life

I'm definitely a "dress right dress" on the clothes! I'm never late for meeting either! Can't sleep in either after 37 years - 0530 hours in the monring and my body is screaming - "get out of Bed and do something!"
