I&#39;m used to it so it&#39;s not driving me batty , mildly annoying, sometimes embarrassing and occasionally comical but not making me want to suck start my .45.. When i&#39;m really tired, it takes hours to get to sleep, because it tends to be louder the more tired i am. The VA has declined my claim. When it comes on, it is piercing, shrill, and overwhelms pretty much any sound. But it subsides after just a couple seconds, down to a background whistle, and then to nothing within a minute. So, overall, no serious impediment to life.
