I did delayed entry so I could complete my Associate before shipping. Recruiter did bother to notify me that if I waited until after I completed school that I could go in with a higher rank and possibly to OCS ... But things have worked out and now I have a Masters

Depends on what phase. HS diploma to USMA until they didn't like my eyes so after getting a draft number of 2, went to boot. Some time deployed to 'Nam for summer vacations in reserves to finish college and then back in with a commission. Out again after 10 years and shifted back to reserves getting a Masters which was needed to promote to CDR anyways. What I'm getting at is you typically need education for entry level and always more along the way to make senior level.

Since I was an officer commissioned through ROTC: Two years of college when I attended AFROTC summer camp (close to basic as I got). Completed Bachelors Degree before I started pilot training and later basic and advanced C-130 pilot course (Basic Combat Training). Completed Masters Degree while a Captain to enhance my opportunity to make major--it helped I guess.

Signed up the summer before my senior year in college and went off to Basic two weeks after I graduated.

Enlisted after my junior year in college as a PFC in 1989; used MGIB, Texas benefits, and TA to finish BGS, MA, MDiv, and Doctorate over the course of the next 25 years. Never stop pushing yourself to learn!

Just my HS Diploma. Proudly joined as soon as I could after my 17 birthday. I will keep getting education as long as the Army supports it however.
