I bet your U/A or the S1 will know the specifics.<br /><br />I have known of situations where a Soldier was allowed to do a block of RSTs to keep them from getting U&#39;s while they stop attending as they clear. But, this was a unit-level decision on a unique case. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 08 May 2017 16:32:42 -0400 2017-05-08T16:32:42-04:00 Response by 1SG Dennis Hicks made May 8 at 2017 8:12 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-much-lead-time-is-required-for-usar-transfer-from-tpu-to-retired-reserve?n=2555249&urlhash=2555249 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Sir before I was transferred to the retired Reserve I was told a 6 month lead was required. They cut orders for me in 45 days. As stated below it depends on the work ethic of your command chain. 1SG Dennis Hicks Mon, 08 May 2017 20:12:05 -0400 2017-05-08T20:12:05-04:00 Response by LTC John Shaw made May 8 at 2017 8:53 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-much-lead-time-is-required-for-usar-transfer-from-tpu-to-retired-reserve?n=2555339&urlhash=2555339 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I suggest at least nine months out and draft your final end of service award and support forms. In my case I was picked up for a deployment after I had submitted for retirement. But being a former UA I filled out all the forms so all my UA had to do was submit. I was lucky as well I got all my counselings etc that drill weekend in May. Enough time for appropriate review and endorsement from the commander.<br />In practice, unless there is an issue of some sort, I have seen a pretty consistent turn around of 90 days with five echelons to pass through.<br />Medical, legal, or disability entanglements can lengthen the process quite a bit, however. 1SG Private RallyPoint Member Wed, 10 May 2017 11:40:42 -0400 2017-05-10T11:40:42-04:00 Response by LTC Peter Hartman made May 10 at 2017 10:44 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-much-lead-time-is-required-for-usar-transfer-from-tpu-to-retired-reserve?n=2560375&urlhash=2560375 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was in the IRR. You should then have all your paperwork in 3 months out. you again will get confirmation and then the first of the month AFTER you turn 60 will be you official disbursement date for retirement checks.
