I'd say you'd be better served learning to put together a more effective resume, which they WILL see. <div><br></div><div>Feel free to use your NCOER's as a guide to ensure you highlight all your major accomplishments,  but just handing an employer your NCOER, to me, seems like an inability to accept that you are now a civilian, and are having difficulties making the transition. That would be a red flag for me in your prospective employers position.<br><br /></div> SFC Michael Hasbun Sun, 01 Dec 2013 21:40:13 -0500 2013-12-01T21:40:13-05:00 Response by CPT Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 1 at 2013 10:15 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-much-weight-do-civilian-employers-potential-employers-place-in-the-military-evaluation-system-in-other-words-the-ncoer?n=14165&urlhash=14165 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Pretty much none. &amp;nbsp;I have worked in law enforcement and with a large retailer on the management team. At no point did an NCOER &amp;nbsp;come up, nor did I supply it due to the lack of understanding what it really says. As stated a good resume speaks volumes about you. That should be your focus. I was a hiring manager and never cared to see one as often they may not reflect on that type of work.&amp;nbsp; CPT Private RallyPoint Member Sun, 01 Dec 2013 22:15:53 -0500 2013-12-01T22:15:53-05:00 Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 1 at 2013 10:24 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-much-weight-do-civilian-employers-potential-employers-place-in-the-military-evaluation-system-in-other-words-the-ncoer?n=14169&urlhash=14169 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>What is everyone's take on the Military as a whole being taxed vs no tax for the military? I personally feel there is no reason to tax the military because we make up such a small portion of the us population. At the same time I feel the service we provide / have provided to our Nation should be enough.   SSG Private RallyPoint Member Sun, 01 Dec 2013 22:24:12 -0500 2013-12-01T22:24:12-05:00 Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 1 at 2013 10:35 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-much-weight-do-civilian-employers-potential-employers-place-in-the-military-evaluation-system-in-other-words-the-ncoer?n=14178&urlhash=14178 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I had been asked for my NCOER's when I was contacted by military job placement firms such as Bradley-Morris, Lucas Group and Orion staffing. <br><br>Other than those job placement firms, no other civilian employers or staffing agencies will ask for these.<br> SGT Private RallyPoint Member Sun, 01 Dec 2013 22:35:33 -0500 2013-12-01T22:35:33-05:00 Response by CMC Robert Young made Dec 2 at 2013 6:45 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-much-weight-do-civilian-employers-potential-employers-place-in-the-military-evaluation-system-in-other-words-the-ncoer?n=14253&urlhash=14253 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It's probably relevant if you are dealing directly with people who have served in the military, or if you are going to a civilian position that supports a military mission. Beyond that, I think there may be bad than good simply because people reviewing it would not have the necessary insight into how the military evaluation system works or be able to place things into the appropriate context. I got hired by SAIC, they did not need my OPR's. I have heard some firms may want proof that what is in your resume is valid.
