Sounds about right. I did that a few times with medics just to see their reaction.

Mostly I use it when I need to remain respectful, but get my point across that something is mind glowingly stupid haha

Only to reinforce the necessity of warrior tasks as they were all SOLDIERS FIRST, medics second...
and to make them cringe.

Agreed, Sir. LTC (Join to see), there are times I call my medics by the term 'Soldier Medic' only to remind them that we are soldiers first and thus must know soldier tasks and to help out the unit. For example, I don't want my medics to just sit in a FLA on the range, I want them out there checking everyone and making sure all is good. I also want them out there at the end of the day helping picking up brass and doing police call, since the more people who help out, the sooner its done and the sooner its done the sooner we all get to leave.

Never. It makes our skin crawl and we actually vomit a little when we use it. I have to stop myself from assaulting people who call me "soldier medic."

and if you don't think anyone is paying attention, we used to say 'So Dramatic' instead. Often they would take a step or two and then realize what it was we said. Otherwise it is extremely rare, unless your SGM is trying to single out his medics in a large crowd during a briefing, in which case we appreciate the way the SGM identifies us.
