How often do you meet up with old buddies you met in the military?

I sometimes run into people from when I was enlisted. I still run into quite a few people from when I was at the Naval Academy. Do you still run into people from time to time? How often?

I served Active Duty Marine Corps, Navy Reserve, and Active Duty Air Force, and I've deployed with the Army twice...I can't help running into people I've served with! but I DO make it a point to keep in touch with certain people. you can't help forming that bond...it goes beyond friendship to family.

When I was active duty I did often. I have come across Marines and Sailors I found out we deployed together. Not necessarily in the same unit.

Since I work on post here at Ft Leonard Wood I run into friends and former Soldiers a couple times a week. Same at the local Wal Mart and restaurants. It's pretty neat to see former PVTs now wearing 1SG and SGM chevrons.

I don't "bump" in to them, but I purposely meet up with them now and again. And of course, living in Florida, most folk are heading here for vacation at one point or another. We try to have ship reunions every so many years as well. Failing that, I'll correspond with many on my website.

Where I live, not so much. But I am in several groups on FB that we have our own groups. It is really neat to see them now after so many years. I had my first reunion last year and it was pretty Awesome. Seeing so many of the guys I sailed with on my first boat including our CO and XO.

Way less often than I would like. I did make contact with a couple of good friends a week or so ago that I hadn't talked to in over 20 years. It was great.

Well I still live in the same area of my last station, so the ones who are still in I see from time to time, but the one's who've gotten out or changed stations, it's been awhile. Most times we keep in touch over facebook. But that face to face share a couple drinks, hasn't been in some time.

We have a small group of former Tower Rats that try and get together at least once a year. We usually go in together and rent a house for a week.
