Usually once a year using the government site. The credit bureaus must provide a report once a year at no cost. USAA also provides a FICO score monitoring service.

USAA has a great program and the security is much better then the credit programs out there. I use it and view my score weekly because of my security clearance. and I have paid off $7000 in credit cards and refinanced my home in a lower interest rate saving $800 dollars making my credit score slowly go up into the 700's or higher. View your history weekly and see what's going on.
