I tell my wife of 29 years, and my boys (now all grown) every day that I love them and often how proud of them I am. She was driving home to RI from Florida during her first semester of college and was killed in an auto accident. Just 45 minutes before, she stopped to gas up and called her mom and grandmother to update them on her trip home, none of them knowing it would be the last time they would ever speak. Truly tragic. I have experienced a loved one being here today and gone tomorrow - unexpectedly - so I know how important this topic really is. Granted were safe pilots. But the adage you are more likely to get killed by a car than in an airplane accident holds very true... I got hit by a drunky in Octover and it totaled my car. Had I been one yard further I d probably be a dead man.

First phone call I made was to my parents to let them know I'm ooS second was to my grandparents. My best friends from church were right behind me, and they witnessed the whole thing. One was already on 911 the other was checking both of us for shock.

Point being it flashes very fast before your eyes. I still wake up sweating over that one . This day is a gift, that's why it is called THE PRESENT. You cannot 'give it back' you cannot 'regift it' yesterday cannot be brought back. Tomorrow is NOT promised. Each second passed IS IN THE PAST. Call up your spouse, significant other on your cell RIGHT NOW, and tell 'em, hey, I just called to say I love you. (well don't do this if you're driving...) It may be JUST what that person needs to hear at this EXACT SECOND. Hey guys, I love you.
