How should the police deal with the protestors appearing at Trump events? Personally, I detest civil disobedience/not obeying lawful orders.

The rioters need to be dealt with harshly and quickly by the police. The majority of the troublemakers are not actual protestors.
If you look at the crowds closely, you will see anarchists mixed in with real protestors. These knuckleheads go to protests and intentionally destroy things and cause problems. They don't care about the actual cause.
Real folks who actually care about the cause will listen to the police and back off when asked. The anarchists types will fight back.

The Constitution protects the right of people to peaceably assemble. If the assembly is not peaceable, use pepper spray.

CSM Charles Hayden Given a choice, I will probably always prefer a stand-off weapon to a close-in weapon. If unruly demonstrators require physical restraint and deterrence, a shot of pepper spray to the face at 10' away might eliminate the need to use batons at all -- and would certainly be much less sensational on video.

Last Mothers'Day myself and 9 others got ticketed by the police for "pedestrian blocking road" in a nonviolent civil disobedient protest at the Kitsap-Bangor Naval Base in WA. This was in protest for the continued existence and spending on the enormous amount of nuclear weapons and their waste. We will be mitigating our cases in court and it will be on public record. The Ground Zero Center for Nonviolence organizes this every year along with similar ones on MLK jr. Day weekend and Hiroshima-Nagasaki Day weekend. I am a Veteran For Peace and Pax Christi member

Sgt Ramon Nacanaynay - And what exactly did you accomplish by blocking traffic?

If they are peacefully protesting that's fine, but when you get into destruction of property, willful disobedience etc arrests need to be made.
