I just arrived to my unit and want to know how long before I can attend the board and get promoted? I’ve graduated BLC, have the points, and meet TIS/TIG requirements. The regulation for promotion is AR 600-8-19. There&#39;s an important ALARACT on the HRC Enlisted Promotions page you can access that explains how CLI was changed to MLI and explains earliest board dates and mandatory board dates. For yourself specifically, reference AR 600-20 under enlisted date of rank because the MEPS will definitely mess up your date of rank when you access into the Active Component.
