How soon can I reclass after re-enlisting? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-soon-can-i-reclass-after-re-enlisting

I reenlisted in January 2018, I was wondering when I could reclass if I so chose?

Currently infantry, I reenlisted for 5 years, someone mentioned that I could reclass while in my current contract but near the end of it, meaning I would obviously have to extend. Any info given is appreciated. I know when I was active the 91D's were over strength and they would allow us to switch. Promotion points just sat at 798 for the longest time. Did it come with a bonus? How far from the end of you contract are you trying to transition? All questions you will need to answer with your retention NCO. Thank you for your service. If you did and you voluntarily change MOS’s you could end up forefiting it, but that all depends on how the transfer is worded. I’m not sure on having to wait until the end of the contract however. I’ll copy those also in this thread...reach out to your CC. If they aren’t around talk to your FLL to set up a time to meet up with them.

Good luck!! You've already enlisted for 5 years so you may be a long ways off from being able to reclassify now. Prior to this reenlistment would've been an opportune time to see if it was possible. Your career counselors/retention NCOs receive a list of in/out calls. That list provides info on what MOSs are available for reclassifying and what ranks. It's possible that as an 11B you may not have been able to reclassify at your current rank. I think you may be stuck until your next reenlistment period but you can go to your BN PAC just to be sure.
