I've seen on two occasions where someone swore that "a racist was out to get them" and it turned out that it was the individuals misdeeds that were causing the attention, not their race.
The complaint just highlighted their own bad conduct, which was never mentioned at a higher level of leadership, which led to action from senior Commanders.
The "racist" had actually been keeping them out of the frying pan by keeping it at their level. The "racism" was just that NCO actually caring about the Soldier... Be aware of the "good ole boy" system when you are talking to people. It happens more in the Army than people would like to admit especially since it has not happened to them. When I was enlisted I was singled out by my 1SG who then was fired for being a toxic leader. Just keep calm and level headed and be above them. Good luck. The last thing you want to do is go to the NCO's or JAG about it, and it is found out to be nothing. Then you are going to be forever smeared with "that soldier" and frankly, you should. If, after looking objectively at it, you still think it is, then go to the NCO's and JAG's. You have a responsibility to make sure you are correct, and a responsibility to report actual bad conduct. Are you talking direct COC or company level?

If it’s at the company level, somebody would have reported the behavior of it in fact existed. There’s always the stigma of being known as the snitch but when it comes to the well being of the unit, somebody will say something. This also goes to the direst COC as in NCO support channels.

I have witnessed a similar complaint and I would hesitate to take any action unless you can prove without a doubt that the individual is displaying behavior that is unbecoming of a soldier. Failure to have adequate proof will likely result in (and I hate to say it but it happens) retaliatory behavior towards you SSG Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 14 Nov 2019 01:19:54 -0500 2019-11-14T01:19:54-05:00 Response by SGT Chris Stephens made Nov 14 at 2019 9:59 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-to-deal-with-racist-leadership-who-single-certain-people-out?n=5235062&urlhash=5235062

You have to be very careful when saying someone is racist.
