How to get Drill SGT orders deleted?

My wife is currently pregnant with my second child and my first in the EFMP program. Drill is just not feasible for me and my family right now. Anyone have any ideas?

Back during my time it was possible to get a defermen, but only on extreme cases. Honestly I don’t know when there’s a good time to go to Drill Sgt School. When I went I had 3 daughters the oldest was 6. Unless you are not career minded you probably need to suck it up and get it over.

This is not looking good for you. Once Drill Sergeant Branch has you, you are theirs. They may be able to a deferment as mentioned earlier. But the quickest way to get it over with is to do your time. Your not the only Drill Sergeant candidate that has a pregnant spouse and/or small children who are EFMP. I also had 2 EFMP children and 1 3month old baby when i graduated Drill Sergeant school. It is what it is. You can do it. And at the end of it you will have served in one of the most gratifying jobs you can do for your country. I wish you and your family luck, you have to do what you feel is best for you and your family.

Nowadays if you sign a dec statement Drill, Recruiter, or NCOPDS you are ETSing. Once Drill Sergeant branch has you- that’s it. Do your time. Drills are a great bunch of people and your company is your family. They will help you out. There came times that this was 100% true in my company at Jackson.

The only thing nowadays that can trump DS or USAREC Branches is SFAB.

Good luck with that. I tried going to SMU selection and even they can’t take you once DA has selected you.

Looks like a tough predicament you're in here. One upside to doing it and becoming a DS though, is that it will make for a hell of a resume one day. It's an opportunity not too many are granted because they must not have what it takes, or be DS material. I really hope it works out best for you and you can hurdle the situation here.

Another note...my wife is high risk pregnant. My first child came almost 3 months early and this one is expected to be the same. I’m going to have to reach out to my 1SG and see what he can do if at all to help me. If I honestly wasn’t in the situation that I’m in with my family I wouldn’t mind going. But not now.

Failed APFT will get you back to the spouse in no time... (don't do that).
