I guarantee that the first question that will be asked is &quot;do you have a Family Care Plan&quot;, which is what is supposed to kick in when these situations occur. The FCP is supposed to list who will care for your children in the event that both you and your wife are deployed, or both assigned overseas. Yes, it sucks that both of you will be separated from your kids for a year, but sometimes that is what happens with a dual-military couple. Remember, you developed a family care plan for this precise circumstances.
