<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It doesn&#39;t really matter what the difference is. Contact your branch manager with the memo and ask them how they want you to proceed, curtailment request or compassionate reassignment, and process it accordingly.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>A compassionate reassignment would be to a specific location because your presence was necessary to resolve an issue. Curtailments, medical and otherwise, are a shortening of your overseas tour. Without knowing specifics, I am going to guess you should request a curtailment to an assignment that can meet your medical needs. If this pertains to a family member’s issue that happened while you were overseas, then you will need an EFMP packet with your request.
