I recently came off Recruiting detail and 90% of my recruits still keep in touch with me, telling me about promotions and achievements etc. I just want to know how others experiences were with their Recruiters. How was your Recruiter?2014-06-10T01:00:20-04:00SFC Scott O.149426<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I joined in 2003 and my Recruiter was awesome, told me the good and the bad sides of the Army, I believe I was well prepaired for training and left as an E-3. He made sure to put everything on the table. Even went out the of the way to find a recruiter in another station that had the same MOS I was looking at the let me talk to him to get some knowledge of what the job was like within my MOS.Response by SGT Ben Keen made Jun 10 at 2014 2:41 AM2014-06-10T02:41:11-04:002014-06-10T02:41:11-04:00SFC(P) Private RallyPoint Member149452<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My recruiter was drinking while he drove me to MEPS. He was pretty new when my school councilor got his number for me. I'll give him credit, he did a good job and didn't really hide anything. I didn't care for his supervisor because he's the reason I ended up stuck into a job I didn't want but my recruiter himself wasn't bad.Response by SrA Matthew Knight made May 13 at 2016 11:56 AM2016-05-13T11:56:53-04:002016-05-13T11:56:53-04:00SFC Jim Ruether3596956<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I learned to like my recruiter later in my career after he and I got to know each other better but that lying skunk sure hoodwinked me when he recruited me. I was a young pup with a girl on my arm and a house that needed buying. He came into the picture and promised me everything that I needed from my enlistment to the bonuses they would pay for certain MOS's. I went in as a Medic and came out a Artilleryman working in the FDC. My $2000 bonus promised to me after I graduated from Basic Training was a split bonus with half after I got done with AIT and the other half paid on my enlistment anniversary two years later. So damn near no girl, damn near no home, no MOS Medic, and now I was an Artilleryman. I think now a days I could get my contract cancelled after this fella stretched the truth as much as he had. I guess recruiting during the cold war was a tough occupation so they told you what you wanted to hear and away I went.Response by SFC Jim Ruether made May 3 at 2018 11:05 AM2018-05-03T11:05:36-04:002018-05-03T11:05:36-04:002014-06-10T01:00:20-04:00
