How was your Recruiter? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/how-was-your-recruiter <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I joined in 2003 and my Recruiter was awesome, told me the good and the bad sides of the Army, I believe I was well prepaired for training and left as an E-3. I recently came off Recruiting detail and 90% of my recruits still keep in touch with me, telling me about promotions and achievements etc. I just want to know how others experiences were with their Recruiters. He made sure to put everything on the table. Even went out the of the way to find a recruiter in another station that had the same MOS I was looking at the let me talk to him to get some knowledge of what the job was like within my MOS. While I was in basic training he called my wife twice to ask if I was still interested in joining the Army. He was pretty new when my school councilor got his number for me. I'll give him credit, he did a good job and didn't really hide anything. I didn't care for his supervisor because he's the reason I ended up stuck into a job I didn't want but my recruiter himself wasn't bad. I was a young pup with a girl on my arm and a house that needed buying. He came into the picture and promised me everything that I needed from my enlistment to the bonuses they would pay for certain MOS&#39;s. I went in as a Medic and came out a Artilleryman working in the FDC. My $2000 bonus promised to me after I graduated from Basic Training was a split bonus with half after I got done with AIT and the other half paid on my enlistment anniversary two years later. So damn near no girl, damn near no home, no MOS Medic, and now I was an Artilleryman. I think now a days I could get my contract cancelled after this fella stretched the truth as much as he had. I guess recruiting during the cold war was a tough occupation so they told you what you wanted to hear and away I went.
