That skill set gave me an advantage over others that I competed with for promotions, and I advanced rather quickly. No better place than the military to learn those things. We had a guy pass out the other night and one of the older guys came to me and asked where my relief was so I could go to break. I knew my relief was a hard worker so if he wasn't there he had a reason. I told them he was probably busy. When we discovered what happened to him there was an uproar because who was going to cover my break time. It made me laugh. I told them, "Guys it's just break. I can miss one. If I decide I need one I will wait until the rest of the crew on break is back and go take a short one." Adapt and overcome.
