How will soldiers who were given gold crowns by the military be handled by the new AR 670-1?

The Army doesn't do ornamentation. Gold crowns generally aren't provided in the front 6/12 teeth. I don't think this is going to be a problem - they gave me a gold crown on a molar... if they want it off they're gonna have to come get it!

I'm with ya on that one Top, I have a gold molar crown too, and as such is dental reconstructive work, not ornamentation. I think the intent of the new reg is to get rid of the "grills"...

CSM Dahl, agreed. Its not regular dental work, but the Flava Flav look alikes that are the intended target..

Let me use illustrations:
If you look like this, you are the intended target of the change. If all you have is a few crowns that the Army installed, don't worry, you are not who they have in mind...

I am sure that since the military put it on they will be responsible for paying to have it removed since I believe that would fall under elective procedure which SMs cannot initiate without approval.
So if they inputted it in your mouth they will be the ones to provide the service to have it removed point blank, you can't enforce its removal by Soldier if they issued it in the first place without having a plan in mind on how to correct the issue under the new regulation.
