If not allowing for alternates then that would cut out alot of the Army How will the new APFT work with current profiles and the 6 events? 2019-01-15T11:43:00-05:00 SPC(P) Private RallyPoint Member 4288652 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>With the new APFT in mind how will it manage or comply with profiles or allow alternate events for those that can&#39;t do the certain events. When it finally comes out completely, there will be the standard alternate events depending on the profile, like always. There is a plan to see that if during this year of testing before it goes officially live in 2020 that alternate events should be incorporated. But, I wouldn&#39;t really hold any breaths on that aspect. Currently, I have a permanent profile for running so I do the alternate cardio. But, since I am not holding out on getting an alternate event for the new system, I am currently working on getting my run up to par (or better). Those that currently have alternate events or events that are eliminated due to physical injuries, but are still deployable based on current standards, had better start planning on getting able to do those events or get ready to exit the door. Yes it sucks. Yes, the Army will be losing people. But it&#39;s the nature of the beast and the business we&#39;re in. We don&#39;t have to like it, but we do have to cut the mustard or pack our bags. Currently, those on temporary profile will have 6 months to heal and return to duty including passing the ACFT. This fits under the &quot;deploy (be deployable) or get out&quot; directive that has been pushed the last few years. The figures that I&#39;ve seen are estimating that this MAY reduce the force by 5-10% initially. The word from them, and ultimately SMA Daliy, is there is no current plan for alternate events. So, get healthy, stay healthy, start training. It will be aged and mos based. Including profiles. 10 good pullups is better than 40 push ups. For females who want combat arms same standards as the men. Zero transgender fools. Gay is OK. A huge percentage of service members have profiles with only 3 events. Now you are going to have 6 events with no profiles? I see one of two things happening: half the people will be kicked out for not being able to pass the or PT test, some major changes will happen. I personally have been against people with profiles being treated the same as people that train, practice and pass the PT test but let’s be real something is going to have to change.
