Unfortunately we rely way too much on magical black boxes, electronic sensors and video screens. They are really nice and cool to play with, but they cannot nor should they be expected to replace Human intuitions and senses. Maybe you could integrate refresher courses in your field training. From remote drone pilots to robotic fighting vehicles and troops, there will be video controllers everywhere. Even our combat fighter jets and rotary winged attack helicopters are like flying a video game. However in every war there has always been a "rear" or a FOB. In WW2 there were larger groups of soldiers miles behind the lines that essentially formed a FOB. In Vietnam there were absolutely FOBs same for our current wars. In fact one of the first concerns a Commander would have is where to set up a FOB. We ran out of a small out post as well, but the FOB was vital in case we got hit we could get air to our position as well as evacuate wounded or KIA if needed. The FOB is also where we got our supplies from as well. Reading through these posts its pretty clear you just have a low opinion of just about everyone else, yet think you are the best thing that's ever happened to the military. But rest assured soldiers will continue to do well even without a video game controller (?).
