Those around you recognize your effort, commitment, diligence, and perseverance because they're familiar with what it took to rise to your level during military service. It should go without saying that the higher one's rank, the greater degree of knowledge, skill, and experience one would generally have. In that regard, civilian businesses are usually standing in line to hire seasoned veterans. It's only one reason why I sought to attend every school that I could on Uncle Sam's dime. If nothing else, I received a free education.
