I am in my window for reenlistment. I want to ask for fort Huachuca. Just wanted to see if anyone knew how it would be there for me as a 91b (wheeled vehicle mechanic) and also coming from Fort Hood 1st cav.

I didn’t enjoy my time there as a 91B, I didn’t learn or do much. I felt very stagnant there. Outside of work I love Arizona.

I was with the 11th Signal Brigade, my day was normal, 0600 PT and 0900 work call then of by 1630 or 1500 on Thursday for family time. The work schedule didn’t bother me, I just wanted more out of my job and that’s why I chose to go to Fort Bragg.

It doesn’t get as hot as Tucson or Phoenix, gets the rains from monsoon season and the snow in the mountains. I loved the town and the people, I just didn’t like work with the unit I was assigned as it was very boring.

Honestly, its bad. I'm a 91B here at 40th, and the motorpool crew gets shit on and overlooked for everything. It's stagnant, more than likely will never get deployed. And signal soldiers here are lazy as all hell when it comes to 10 level maintenance. I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

I loved it as a 52C and wrenched on many, many trucks in the 11th Sig. I was also at Hood and loved it also but Huachuca wins hands down.
