How would someone go about giving up their disability rating?

Hello, How would someone go about giving up their disability rating? I'm looking to reenlist into the Army after a 7yr break but I have to give up my 10% rating.

SPC Daniel Romero I don't believe you just give it up Daniel, its more of a matter of waiving that 10% pay while you are back in the Army. Good luck.

You don't need to "give it up" nor should you. Tell them to stop paying you (if you're getting paid) when your back on active duty. I'm 60% and got Mobilized and deployed to Kuwait.

You don't "give it up" per say. When you go through the process, the VA will see your active record and suspend the payments. Just note, any payments you receive from the VA after your enlistment date may have to be paid back.

I feel like you're setting yourself up for a fraud investigation. After all, if you're healthy enough to pass a MEPS physical and enlist, should you ever have been receiving disability in the first place?
