Reclass is one of the options.Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made May 22 at 2020 12:27 PM2020-05-22T12:27:20-04:002020-05-22T12:27:20-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member5922909<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>When it's time to reenlist, yes. Or, you can just pass Ranger School and it's a simple request to switch.<br />What non combat civilian sector skills do you think you will qualify for with no experience after you switch?Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made May 22 at 2020 12:56 PM2020-05-22T12:56:24-04:002020-05-22T12:56:24-04:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member5923159<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You will likely have to wait until your window for re-enlistmentResponse by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made May 22 at 2020 1:58 PM2020-05-22T13:58:28-04:002020-05-22T13:58:28-04:00SSgt Christophe Murphy5923201<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>It is possible. The key will be having enough time left on your contract. You will either need to extend your current contract or wait until you re-enlist to make it happen. Submitting a package without extending will be a nonstarter. You will need to have a conversation with your career planner or whatever your equivalent to a career planner is. They will be the ones to outline your path and help work the ropes.Response by SSgt Christophe Murphy made May 22 at 2020 2:06 PM2020-05-22T14:06:11-04:002020-05-22T14:06:11-04:00SSG Brian G.5925151<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>There are ways to do it but why? Mid point on a standard 4 year contract is 2 years. With BCT, and AIT is 38-40 weeks. Then if you have a security clearance above Secret you will be sitting around twiddling your thumbs until that is cleared and done by CID and the FBI and that could take some time. You could easily spend that two years and not actually have any job experience. <br /><br />Best bet is to change over your MOST to 11B when you are due to re-enlist. That way it gives you a few years to actually do your job.Response by SSG Brian G. made May 23 at 2020 3:54 AM2020-05-23T03:54:14-04:002020-05-23T03:54:14-04:00SSG Lyle O'Rorke5926095<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Simple fail your AIT and then be a sent to 11BResponse by SSG Lyle O'Rorke made May 23 at 2020 10:53 AM2020-05-23T10:53:25-04:002020-05-23T10:53:25-04:00CPT(P) Private RallyPoint Member5928236<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Reclass in your reenlistment.Response by CPT(P) Private RallyPoint Member made May 23 at 2020 11:01 PM2020-05-23T23:01:00-04:002020-05-23T23:01:00-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member6123471<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I did. I starter life in the Army as a 63T. I then reclassed to 11B and went to Airborne School. I then got assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division. I got off active duty. I joined the Reserves and I’ve since reclassed to a 42A and then an 88N.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jul 21 at 2020 12:30 PM2020-07-21T12:30:25-04:002020-07-21T12:30:25-04:002020-05-22T12:21:14-04:00
