As a parent and/or caregiver, it’s natural to want to give your all to your loved one, but everyone needs a break, whether that’s to go to an appointment, run errands, or just have time for yourself. <br /><br />Learn more about respite care resources available to you: Could you use a break from Caregiving duties? 2022-07-29T15:47:22-04:00 RallyPoint News 7798394 <div class="images-v2-count-1"><div class="content-picture image-v2-number-1" id="image-708545"> <div class="social_icons social-buttons-on-image"> <a href='https://www.facebook.com/sharer/sharer.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rallypoint.com%2Fanswers%2Fhttps-www-militaryonesource-mil-health-wellness-caregivers-utm_source-rallypoint-utm_medium-native-ad-utm_campaign-rallypoint-ai-2022-utm_%3Futm_source%3DFacebook%26utm_medium%3Dorganic%26utm_campaign%3DShare%20to%20facebook' target="_blank" class='social-share-button facebook-share-button'><i class="fa fa-facebook-f"></i></a> <a href="https://twitter.com/intent/tweet?text=Could+you+use+a+break+from+Caregiving+duties%3F&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.rallypoint.com%2Fanswers%2Fhttps-www-militaryonesource-mil-health-wellness-caregivers-utm_source-rallypoint-utm_medium-native-ad-utm_campaign-rallypoint-ai-2022-utm_&amp;via=RallyPoint" target="_blank" class="social-share-button twitter-custom-share-button"><i class="fa fa-twitter"></i></a> <a href="mailto:?subject=Check this out on RallyPoint!&body=Hi, I thought you would find this interesting:%0D%0ACould you use a break from Caregiving duties?%0D%0A %0D%0AHere is the link: https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/https-www-militaryonesource-mil-health-wellness-caregivers-utm_source-rallypoint-utm_medium-native-ad-utm_campaign-rallypoint-ai-2022-utm_" target="_blank" class="social-share-button email-share-button"><i class="fa fa-envelope"></i></a> </div> <a class="js-track-native-ad" target="_blank" data-native-ad-id="1629" href="https://www.militaryonesource.mil/family-relationships/special-needs/support-for-families/respite-care-special-needs-families/?utm_source=rallypoint&amp;utm_medium=native-ad&amp;utm_campaign=rallypoint-ai-2022&amp;utm_content=osd-caregiver-duties"><img src="https://d1ndsj6b8hkqu9.cloudfront.net/pictures/images/000/708/545/large_v3/eea65beb.png" alt="Eea65beb" /></a></div></div>Taking care of a family member can be more than a full-time job. I am disable at 50% with back, legs, and chest bones issues from my recent open heart bypass surgery. Mom&#39;s hospices nurses and my VA doctor were concerned about my health and pain level going through the roof but I push on making sure mom had a little confort in all her pain. After she died it took me three months of almost straight sleep to restore my endurence, strength, and other mental/physical things that were depleted. I used all my life experences to push through everything, but I counld&#39;nt have done it without the Lord lifting me up and giving me He peace and patience so that I did&#39;nt snap at mom when I was tired and she was wearing on my last nerves. The Lord did a lot for me but that a story for another time. Response by SPC Leland Keller made Aug 12 at 2022 1:29 AM 2022-08-12T01:29:09-04:00 2022-08-12T01:29:09-04:00 2022-07-29T15:47:22-04:00
