I had gotten dysentery and food poisoning 3-4 times each and lost a little over 30 lbs during my deployment. There were 3 main causes.1) food served at the local warlord's house 2)water from the shower/sinks 3)poorly cooked food from the Dfac. My question to you good folks is.... When deployed in Afghanistan how many times did you end up getting the hershey squirts and what caused it? This question is purely for comical means and not meant to be serious(humor) When deployed in Afghanistan how many times did you end up getting the hershey squirts?2014-09-23T20:07:38-04:00SPC Matt Johnson252757<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>During my Deployment to Afghanistan in 2003 the conditions there were not the best. If anyone went up to 10x a day or it was bloody, then we treated it. We did our best to treat the water, added chlorine when the tank truck brought it onto the base; never could really get ahead of the situation.Response by CDR James Christopher made Nov 6 at 2014 9:17 PM2014-11-06T21:17:06-05:002014-11-06T21:17:06-05:00SPC Matt Johnson324146<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I got food poising and dysentery 4 times each. We were told it was from bad drinking water, and given lot numbers to avoid on one brand of bottled water. Reasons were crappy food and tampered bottles of water. We had to squeeze the bottles upside down before opening one to see if they would leak. If they did, don't drink!!Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 1 at 2015 4:04 AM2015-01-01T04:04:40-05:002015-01-01T04:04:40-05:00SrA Private RallyPoint Member884490<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Twice both times like rusty water.
