I am a 68W combat medic in the Army Reserves. Will my training transfer with me to the Navy or am I still required to attend 'A' school?

It was over 20 years ago, but I had been a medic and a pharmacy specialist in the Army and Army Reserve. I took a year off and then enlisted in the Navy Reserve. I kept my rank, and because I had the Expert Field Medic Badge, and the Combat Medic Badge, (from Desert Storm), they let me enlist in the Navy Reserve without having to go to A school, and they also gave me the 8404 (FMF Corpsman, which meant I could serve with the Marines).

Talk to a recruiter. They would know. Maybe yes. Maybe no. The Navy is one branch that really doesn't like prior service that much.

SPC (Join to see) - Say what? Is your recruiter young to the job or just incompetent? It is the recruiters job TO know... he or she can pick up a phone and speak to their immediate supervisor, the station commander or MEPS to get the answer. And your question is not even a difficult one.

It is extremely likely you would have to attend A school. While co-located, the training is more advanced for the Navy.
