I am about to enter my re-enlistment window and want to go active. If I request AD, am I likely to get my release approved?

Nobody can really say, it's entirely up to your Command. If your unit or state is short, or tasked, or deemed critical... No way for strangers to know.

Go see a Recruiter, start the process, hope for the best.
