I am ARNG trying to go active duty in 92A MOS. Second you will need to get a conditional release from the National Guard and those are not guaranteed. Start talking to recruiters right away. As far as keeping your MOS the recruiters can answer that for you. Shouldn’t be a problem. Considering your rank and the size of the MOS, they will likely make you keep your current job. It is easier this way because the Army can save time and money by not retraining you. My biggest advice from going through this exact same route when I was a private would be to ride this out hard with your NG unit. Your active duty recruiter will push you to go as fast as possible because you are an easy contract for them. Your NG unit will likely sit on this. My conditional release took about 2 months. I've seem them as a recruiter take up to 6 months. I went into my unit every week to ask about it. Some individuals who had to sign it only worked one weekend a month. If you show that it is important to you, you'll likely get more help. If your actions say that you don't care when it gets signed and you can wait however long, expect to wait like 6 months. Good luck! Let me know if you have any questions. SFC Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 02 Sep 2019 02:58:52 -0400 2019-09-02T02:58:52-04:00 2019-09-01T19:25:41-04:00
