I am with the 75th TC and they pay you up to $300 in travel expenses. There is a 75th TC page here. If you enjoy training, understand standards and can create FTX/STX guides, then you will have fun. You will get to meet many units across many branches and work to develop and evaluate the training capability of small organizations. However, after two years of multiple Annual Training periods plus 3-day weekends and 'extra' weekends, it might get old. The time demands can be problematic. Plus, you still have to maintain your own fitness, NCOES path and plan your next assignment. Because people rarely end their careers as an OC/T. Most units will accept that some will want to do it there way. If you enjoy designing training lanes and holding people to standard you will do fine. Personal experience is good to pull from but everything is standard driven. Some folks, especially the people you are training and the units you are validating. You get a lot of "we didn't do it this way in xxxxx". You just have to remind them that you are there to enforce the STP, FM, AR, TC, etc. I wish you the best and I hope you wind up in a good unit that is standards based. We have units up and down the east coast, so depending on where you are located maybe you can join one of these units. We conduct 2 Exercises (WAREX and CSTX) {this year we are the lead in a DSCA (Guardian Response) Exercise with Army North and USARC} but our 2 main ones each year a the previous 2 and we do this for the reserves in our DIV. We are 1 of 3 Divisions with in the 84th TRNG CMD that do this and all 3 Divisions have units all over the US. So if interested let me know and I can get you in touch with my G1 moving forward.
