I am currently a 68K at Ft. Benning but want to go to OCS. I was wondering if a DUI in college would disqualify me?

If you don't apply your shot is 0%. If you apply and they reject you the process will only help as things needed to be competitive for an ocs selection are what is needed to make SGT. If they reject you, keep pushing for self improvement as the Army may loosen standards later based on who we are at war with.

Just completed this process a year ago. CPT Mark Gonzalez gave the perfect answer. I did not have a DUI, but I do have a sleeve tattoo. I was disqualified for a half year and the policy changes again. You may be disqualified now, but keep building your resumè. It will come back around.

I'm applying no matter what. I'm not scared to get rejected, I will do whatever I have to do to reach my potential in the army

Apply as necessary because the army's needs will eventually (or may currently) match your interests. Nothing like a war to introduce the two. Ask the guy who commissioned from OCS at 36.

CPT John Hermida - I have read the MILPER message. It is waiverable, I am just curious as to if even with a waiver would it be an automatic denial

As others have stated, nothing ventured, nothing gained. I don't know about your command, but possibly if the DUI was a loooong time ago and you've demonstrated you have been a mature, responsible, productive citizen, who knows? I would never give up and don't let the fear of rejection stop you. Good luck!

Give it a try? Definitely, best of luck to you or for you can recon the process with people you might know.
