I am currently active duty. Under what circumstances would I receive a BAH as a full time student in the reserves?

After my contract is done, I am considering going to school while in the reserves or National Guard. (I have not done enough research to make a decision on which one to join) Will I receive a BAH while at school, and if so, what would be the requirements to receive such aid?

By the time you finish your contract, who knows what the rules will be. Need to wait till at least 1 yr out from your ETS.

Your GI Bill will pay BAH for the location of your school while you are a full time student. If you take summer break you're out of luck. The National Guard or Reserves have no bearing on your BAH.

As long as you are a Full Time student you receive BAH for that area. There is also partial, but as SGM Fraser said, a lot can change fast, in the digital age it’s easy to look up VA Benefits on line. Best of luck on your road ahead.

As others have stated, BAH is dependent on where the school is located and your status as a student (full time, part time, online). I will say if you're looking into a career after your time on active duty, it's best to look at the benefits offered to you by both the Guard and Reserve. The Minnesota Army National Guard for example, offers State Tuition Reimbursement. I take 12-15 credits a semester, about 30 credits annually. After I use my 16 credits allotted from Federal Tuition Assistance, STR picks up the rest of the check.
