I am currently in the National Guard and I ETS soon. They should be able to have you enlist the day after your ETS so you don&#39;t have a break in service. 2LT Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 04 May 2020 11:11:02 -0400 2020-05-04T11:11:02-04:00 Response by SFC Micheal Ledet made May 4 at 2020 11:56 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/i-am-currently-in-the-national-guard-and-i-ets-soon-is-there-a-way-to-transfer-to-active-duty-or-is-it-just-easier-to-finish-and-reenlist?n=5849482&urlhash=5849482 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You need to do a conditional release which is a DD 368... it will be easier to just ETS. Then find a local recruiter in your area SFC Micheal Ledet Mon, 04 May 2020 11:56:46 -0400 2020-05-04T11:56:46-04:00 Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made May 4 at 2020 12:49 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/i-am-currently-in-the-national-guard-and-i-ets-soon-is-there-a-way-to-transfer-to-active-duty-or-is-it-just-easier-to-finish-and-reenlist?n=5849686&urlhash=5849686 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Most likely, it&#39;ll be easier just to ETS --depending on how far out your ETS that is and how fast your CoC actions these things. I mean, it doesnt hurt to request a Conditional Release since the worst they can say is no, in which case you&#39;d ETS anyway. Best case, youd get approved and can leave a bit sooner. Either way you must first talk to a recruiter. Good luck with your transition ! SGT Private RallyPoint Member Mon, 04 May 2020 12:49:54 -0400 2020-05-04T12:49:54-04:00 Response by SGT David A. It varies from state to state but there is a good chance that you&#39;re looking at 6-8 months to route it all the way up and all the way back down. You may be able to speed the process by physically bringing the form to everyone that needs to sign, but it is unlikely that your release would be their priority. I&#39;ve seen a few people on this forum who have had delays switching from NG to AD waiting on their NGB-22, I&#39;ve never been in recruiting and I don&#39;t know if you actually need that document to enlist AD, but it is a potential hiccup to look out for.
