I am currently National Guard with the intention of going flight WO. When should I submit my WOFT, and how can I go about obtaining one?

I have 2 years left until I ETS from the guard and cannot find any flight WO's to bounce ideas off of.

Submit one as soon as possible. You have to have at least 12 months TIS from the time the board convenes. All the information you need can be found on the Warrant Recruiting website. There you will find packet examples and FAQ’s about the process.

CW2 (Join to see) it is literally my job to counsel Soldiers on SRR's and help them meet them. It is in the duties and description of my job. I've had several soldiers selected for WOCS and WOFT who were well under a year from ETS when they applied because if they didn't get selected they were getting out.

SFC (Join to see) here’s a link for reference, also if you’d like get in touch with one of the Warrant Recruiters, their number is on that website. I’d probably do so, so you aren’t handing out misguided information as a recruiter.

CW2 (Join to see) yes I've seen the link and helped Soldiers process their packets and they were accepted without extending until they were accepted.

Well because you're in the Guard I would recommend talkinf to your chain of command and see if you can RST a drill at the unit you want to join. You'll have all weekend to get your questions answered and you may even get a command endorsement.

Ah, understood. I would still look into doing an RST, If your packet to go active isn't picked up you may want to apply to become a warrant pilot in the guard.

I would visit a flightline.. and ask if they give orientation flights or space A... maybe get some stick time.. sit in cockpits and get a flight physical... I did this all as a 19D ...11B... flying was not for me. But I have stick time in an OH-58... Remember pilots are 88M's but at a higher altitude.
