Check with your unit.

I will be in the same boat..headed to Ft Knox in late winter with OCP uniforms but older UCP patterned winter gear and TA-50. I will feel silly....warm, but silly.Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 28 at 2017 1:07 AM2017-10-28T01:07:13-04:002017-10-28T01:07:13-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member3041770

If you are using the UCP then you should be using UCP name tapes and the old greenish fleece cap though I have seen people use black.
If you are using the new one, Coyote Brown then it should be with OCP tapes and a black or coyote fleece cap. I'm told you can wear the UCP tapes with the new fleece until you get the OCP tapes in.

For example I have a black fleece cap issued from my PT's. I do not have a brown fleece cap, and I asked where I could get one. They said one should be issued to me at some point but until then the black one is acceptable or I can buy one at a PX but they're not forcing me to.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 28 at 2017 2:19 PM2017-10-28T14:19:42-04:002017-10-28T14:19:42-04:00PO3 John Wagner3042938

Use dark colors. They absorb the solar radiation more rapidly and will keep your body in a softer condition for the scavengers to eat when they find your remains.Response by PO3 John Wagner made Oct 29 at 2017 1:41 AM2017-10-29T01:41:02-04:002017-10-29T01:41:02-04:00SGT David A.
