Stay away from alcohol!
I know it sounds like rudimentary advice, but alcohol, APFT, and tape test are easily the three biggest contributors for failing NCOES. Just having a beer in your hand while standing near a fight can be an alcohol related incident. Instant marginal 1059, promotions halted, no longer allowed to reenlist, and set up for the QSP/QMP boards.
Oh and you'll probably be at an IET/AIT training post of some type. Avoid the urge to say anything to the privates, even when they are walking around sagging their ACU's, one pant leg rolled up, headphones in and walking down the street with no headgear. You won't win, and you may even lose.
