I am just curious what people think of AT&T Cable decision to carry the Church of Scientology channel?

I understand Scientologists hate Psychiatrists but the recent episode where the implied heavily that meds distributed by the Army for psychiatric disorders and other mind issues lead the patient to suicide . C'mon, most people are going to spot that as garbage unless they have been otherwise brainwashed. No evidence presented of any substance in that whole documentary.

I am not fan of scientology but if they can convince someone to run their show or pay them to run it then that is okay by me. Not sure what type of ratings it will get outside of their scientologist community.
They have taken a beating in public perception(as they should) over the last few years. Leah Remini's series on Scientology really exposed them for what they are, a mind and life control cult lead by very flawed, deceptive, malicious people. It is the highway to hell.

The German government hates them as well and treats them as a cult, they have passed a number of laws against Scientologists in Germany. I saw Leah Remini's series as well.

If a crappy channel like MSNBC can exist with an audience, why not this? As long as my remote is operable, I’m good with it.

Although the church repeatedly lost in legal cases which were heard up to the level of the Supreme Court, it undertook negotiations with the IRS from 1991 to find a settlement. In October 1993, the church and the IRS reached an agreement under which the church discontinued all of its litigation against the IRS and paid $12.5 million to settle a tax debt said to be around a billion dollars, and the IRS granted 153 Scientology-related corporate entities tax exemption and the right to declare their own subordinate organizations tax-exempt in future.

Understand your point, but if we play Ostrich and bury our head in the sand, our Republic would soon be lost. As to your last sentence, I do selectively use Redbox if there is a movie I want to view. Laura Ingraham has it right, “Shut up and sing.”
