A member assigned to permanent duty within the 50 United States, who is not furnished Gov't housing, is eligible for BAH, and chances are both of you are furnished a barracks living situation which would mean no BAH until you are co-located.

Well she is already receiving BAH. So what you are saying is I will be leaving in quarters? Because I am trying to figure it out ahead of time before I get there and if I have to look up housing or not,but thank you.

Did you guys get married while you were in different duty stations? My finance people told me my husband and I couldn’t get any bah/bas because we got married while we were at different duty stations. And until we are at the same duty station, we won’t be entitled to any of it and have to live in the barracks. But if you guys already had a house hold, I’m pretty sure it would be different

It should be in your orders that you have a spouse, and in your spouses orders. Just make sure y’all are in the MACP program. I think in your case the only way you both wouldn’t get bah is if one of you is still in Training. Buy you’re right, everyone has a different story. Your best bet is to go straight to finance and ask them. SPC (Join to see)

CPL (Join to see) Yes currently I am in AIT, which make sense why I do not get BAH or BAS. The thing that worries me is do I have to look for apartment or base housing or not? Because sometimes the process takes a week or so,in case i have to stay off base.

If you’re in AIT, then you’d have to live in the barracks unless they move your wife to you. (Which they’d only do if your ait was 20 weeks or longer. But that’s if you were married to a civilian) because you’re married to a service member and she’s already at a duty station, what most likely will happen is when you graduate, your orders will be to where she’s stationed. I’m not sure if that answers your question or not though SPC (Join to see)
