I am on orders for Alaska. Is there any 13A's going to BOLC soon that would trade for Germany or Hawaii?

Having lived and grown up in Alaska, I would highly recommend that you take that assignment. Much like Germany and Hawaii, Alaska is a beautiful state with one of a kind scenery, fishing, hunting, camping, etc. It's only a couple years and I assure you that you will not forget your time there. Hopefully you're PCSing to JBER and not Ft Waynewright or Ft Greely. Anchorage is a fun town and I personally thing Fairbanks is a little too secluded for me. But Fairbanks has better Alaskan nature than Anchorage. Good luck LT. I hope you enjoy whichever assignment you end up landing.

I am currently slotted to go to Alaska. I'm trying to get an Airborne assignment instead. This is my first assignment as an officer (3rd one in the Army) and heard that you can trade with other 2LTs in your branch. Still trying to figure out how it works exactly. If anyone has some tips on how this works that would be greatly appreciated.

Embrace it, good things can come from there. There's an airborne unit there, so maybe you get lucky and go with them. I've met a few people who have been there and they loved it.

Alaska is awesome. I love it here but your best luck to trade will be at BOLC, if anyone is willing.
