Thank you for your service. Luckily a moron popped hot on a UA and I jumped on it in his place and went with my new Commander. More than likely if they are already gone when you get there, you will be rear D...But as stated below, that is an answer you seek from your chain of command. Talk to your sponsor and have them run it up. You could be pushed forward and meet your unit shortly after I processing with your unit at garrison or just stay back on rear-d. I had to stayed behind when my unit left one time because they didn’t need the whole company for the deployment. I have had some Soldiers come after we left. So, I would ask my Sponsor if I were your to get a solid answer if you were going to go with them or not. We took fills up to 180 days into the rotation (OIF 05-07 surge). Other units stopped at 60-90 days. Depends on your unit, mission requirements, combat losses and a host of other considerations. I believe it depends on the amount of time left in the rotation and if they are short handed.
