I am prior service Air Force currently serving in the Army. Am I authorized to wear my Air Force occupational badge on my OCPs or ASUs?

Since the Air Force is wearing OCPs now I wondered if I would be allowed to or not.

Honestly, I don't think I have ever seen a soldier wear an air force badge, but I can't say for certain. I would check the Army reg, and if it isn't clear, check with your chain of command.

If its a joint service badge then you might. If its AF specific I doubt it.

SGT Private RallyPoint Member I think it only applies to SpecOps-type badges that can be earned in the Air Force: HALO, Jump Wings, etc. Your general AFSC occupational badge would not translate, so it would not be authorized.

(3) Badges from other U.S. Services that indicate career fields are not authorized for wear (such as U.S. Air Force medical insignia or badges used to identify the duty, function, or classification of the wearer). Some examples are U.S. Air Force fire protection, air training command instructor, security police, or Naval Qualification Badges such as the Na-val aviation warfare specialist.

I have a friend that switched over from the navy. What he did in order to wear his navy patches and awards, is put in a request to the BC with his DD214 proving his awards and the BC approved which ones he could and couldn’t wear.

No. Occupational badges of other branches are specifically forbidden by AR 670-1.

Badges no, ribbons yes, but who cares about AF ribbons, other than for valor, lifesaving or combat? The AF is generally a non-warrior service. So the emphasis on mediocrity ribbons will not be positively viewed in the Army, but you legally CAN wear the many mediocrity ribbons.
