I've gotten so many horror stories about how the VA will continue to not help, deflect, or ignore our freshly separated population. I'm getting self-care and still terrified that I won't be able to gain any form of medical care or support unless I go to a large city VA in certain pro-military states. Most vets I know are, by our nature, helpers. We WANT to shoulder your load - or at least take enough off for you to be able to manage.

When it comes to the physical, it is easy to k own our limit- we can instantly tell when we are carrying too much weight, going too fast, etc. But when it comes to emotional and mental health burdens, the line is hard to find.

When does helping others become detrimental to self? When do we say when? There have been a couple recent studies about vets who took the initiative to write down their experiences and emotions with unexpected healing.
