1SG Private RallyPoint Member 3442

I have to say I really enjoy being able to log on to RallyPoint daily and seeing leaders and service members from all branches have good thought out discussions about our military. Too many places online and on instillations around the world are full of service members that don't want to be in the service, hate everything about it and all the want to do is avoid work and complain. It is nice to come to a place where you can ask a serious question like why are we not correcting soldier? and then have a serious discussion. instead of some one responding with we correct soldiers too much seniors are mean to me. It is refreshing not to have to hear and deal with all that negativity on here; but have some really positive back and forth with senior and junior leaders. Lets keep this place just like this. Avoid having all our Soldiers sign up just cause it is the thing to do. Pass this site on to Service members that want to make connections and have real I am really enjoying the RallyPoint community. I don't think you should avoid inviting people to the site just because you think they will detract from the current professional environment. I think everyone from the most junior soldier to a 4-star general can benefit in some way from this site. Because this site is built around professionalism, I think those who are negative all the time will either be changed for the better because of the mentorship that this site provides or will continue to get voted down in their responses. Feel free to invite all! Everyone will benefit! I'll admit I'm being picky with who I invite, keeping it to those I know would appreciate the opportunity to be part of and informal but professional network. I think regardless of who joins the conversation will remain mostly positive considering it's impossible to hide exactly who you are and who you work for. It's unlikely members will use Rallypoint as an outlet to complain. The wealth of knowlege from so many experienced service members and veterans sharing facts and experience in a reletively respectful manner is a great tool to have. The insight into the minds of junior and higher ranking personnel is really interesting. Being able to read such candor in the forums has been thusfar a great experience for me. Some discussions bring forth passion and strong opinions but I have not yet witnessed outright disrespect in any replies to questions. There is a refreshing lack of tacklessness, negativity and downright falsehood that is often found in other social media. I definately wish I had access to something like this when I was a younger Soldier. I don't think I have actually logged of since joining. I always have RP open in my browser. I love the forums, they are insightful, funny, intriguing, and thought provoking. For the most part, members are very respectful across all branches and ranks.

I liken RP to family. The conversations and genuine care shown by my brothers and sisters here rival that of my relationships with my biological sisters. My daughter probably gets tired hearing me talk about it, but, what can I say.

I have almost abandoned that other site (FB). I think they are upset with me. And maybe even still be of use with their experiences or maybe their silliness. Since my son on active duty has got me to get started this has been outstanding. Being able to connect with folks that understand the issues of those that have severed and are serving. I find myself on RP much more then Facebook. And its very interesting connecting with the array of different individuals from all across the country. Not just people you know like FB. The many topics that are discussed are very interesting and informative. So keep up the good work everyone! And thanks Rally Point!
