To my knowledge, as long as your injury doesn't limit your ability to perform your duty, you should be able to reenlist if you are cleared by medical. It will depend on your age, how many years of AFS you have (off hand I don't know if you did any USAR or NG time), tattoos you may have, law violations you may have incurred since getting out, why you got out and of course you would need a medical review of the documents for your leg.

MSG Private RallyPoint Member Thu, 24 Apr 2014 07:40:45 -0400 2014-04-24T07:40:45-04:00 Response by SGM Matthew Quick made Apr 24 at 2014 8:28 AM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/i-crushed-my-tibia-i-have-a-metal-plate-and-7-screws-now-i-served-17-of-my-20-am-i-eleigible-to-reenlist-with-the-plate-and-screws?n=109759&urlhash=109759

A couple things stick out:

Why did you get out after 17 years? Medical?

A specialist's retention control point (RCP) is 8 years...you'd be 9 years past RCP and not eligible for continued service.

Retention Control Points (RCP)

10 Years Army Strong for Soldiers and Families

SGM Matthew Quick Thu, 24 Apr 2014 08:28:14 -0400 2014-04-24T08:28:14-04:00 2014-04-24T03:37:27-04:00
