I Declined My Warrant Officer Selection... Can I Take It Back?

Is it possible to decline Warrant Officer selection, and then reverse that decision later on?

I was selected in the July 2015 board but I had just become engaged, my personal life was in flux, and we weren't sure whether the Army would work with my relationship, so I declined my selection... But now that we're married, we know that we can make it work. Is there any way that I can take it back??

Im not sure, although i will say since the timing may not have been right and the reserves seems to need warrants now may be the perfect tome for this type of thing. I would contact my local warrant recruiter asap. Good luck

Make sure you give a good explanation about the situation in the Summary section of the
USAREC Form 3.2 (Warrant Officer Resume). I'm sure your accessions NCO will tell you the same thing.

A Reservist can resubmit a packet even if they were previously selected but declined school attendance. Situations change.

Hope your side is more forgiving that it was on my Navy side in the day. Turning something down tells the board you really didn't want it in the first place. Saw that in Millington. However, if the SM was exceptional then it could be overcome. So make sure your input doesn't give the impression that you just got over a head case. Good luck.

You could try but when a panel looks at it they will be less than willing to commit due to your past packet getting declined. Life does get in the way but that is same for a lot of us. It is not what you want to hear but it is what it is. I had a soldier turn down SSG in my unit. After he did that my opinion of him changed. I would rather have a gun that is chomping at the bit than one that has to has to think about it after he submitted the packet.

My understanding is that once you have declined the offer to attend WOCS, you will have to reapply from scratch and your packet must be presented to the board for consideration.

I learned in life "don't burn bridges you might want to cross again" With all the down sizing and such, even replying from scratch(which I believe you got to do), if I was a board member, I'd have serious questions about approving it.

Most programs and sections if you are accepted and decline they will not let you reapply in the future. It would have to be a hell of a good reason, but maybe you can get an exception. Good luck.
