Because every Friday afternoon, rain or shine, a group of people very old and very young, stand in the grassy median of one of the major arteries coming off MacDill AFB (Bayshore Blvd), holding flags of all sizes wishing the departing troops Godspeed for a safe and happy weekend. It may not seem like a big deal to some but it always makes me sneam with pride for humanity.

I agree. Freedom is not free. I feel the fact that a few serve to up hold our democracy regardless of political views. Being able to express ourselves without the fear of death.
