I earned the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge while in ROTC. Do I have to have a U.S. service ribbon to be able to wear it at USMA?

Yes, Reference Para 20-18a, DA PAM 670-1. Unless USMA goes by different uniform policies for cadets, not sure.

Yes you have to have a US award/ribbon i order to wear it. The National Defense Service Medal qualifies. Check with your TACNCO regarding your eligibility.

USMA has their own special uniforms and rules.

I have one too and I was told that you need a memorandum from your first general office to wear it. I wear mine regardless but that is the rule from what I was told.

Award, memorandum, cert stating the date you earned signed by LT. Col. And CSM German that signs off on the award and make sure it is Ipermed
